Please join us for our webinar, “Coffee and Conversation” with Shaun Wood and Josie Sparks.
Every Friday morning starting on April 17th.


This 4-week series of Coffee Conversation series is an informative virtual, technical assistance forum for service professionals. We will meet weekly for a 1.5-hour session to connect and learn together. Conversations will include the fundamentals of IE and CI services, tools, problem solving, finding and developing new resources/opportunities in the community.  Participants will be able to share virtual and in person strategies while also using each other as resources to share ideas and ask questions regarding Community Inclusion services.

Josie Sparks, Wise

Josie Sparks brings many years of experience leading teams utilizing her interdisciplinary background in Community Inclusion and Individualize Employment. It is her belief that community-based participation honors the experiences that each individual brings to the table, demanding inclusion from the ground up, and in the process, captures community values and encourages dialogue with social justice at heart. This keeps her motivated to deliver quality care and superior client outcomes to experience their full potential.

Josie is passionate about leading teams with the idea that opportunities for employment changes lives and creates a positive impact on the social-emotional health of an individual and the communities they live in. She is also passionate in delivering the message that every person is a contributing factor towards their community. In 2017, Josie Sparks had the pleasure of presenting and facilitating an engaging discussion on Community Inclusion and the Pathway to Employment at the TASH Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

In her personal time, Josie dedicates her time to family and competitive Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Paddling, representing the Pacific NW throughout the United States.

Shaun Wood, Wise

Shaunis all about jobs! He’s a community developer and has worked to support people with disabilities since 2002. He continues to work in schools, people’s homes, and job sites, helping to build inclusive communities. Shaun is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and a certified Employment Specialist. He served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Eastern Europe, and obtained both his M.Ed. (Applied Behavior Analysis) and B.A. (Political Science/Human Rights) from the University of Washington.

Shaun uses applied behavior analysis, emerging technology, reflective processes, and mentorship to drive employment outcomes. In his current role, he’s available to work in local communities across Washington State and beyond! He has active projects from Alaska to the southwestern U.S. and eastern Canada. Shaun loves languages, and is fluent in Bulgarian with experience in French, Macedonian, Turkish, and Romani (he’s currently studying Spanish). When he isn’t working, he likes to garden, brew espresso, stare into his aquariums, and jog circles around his adopted hometown of Burien, Washington.
