Boots on the Ground: Employment Consultant Community of Practice Workshop
In collaboration with the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Administration, Wise is pleased to announce the Boots on the Ground: Employment Consultant Community of Practice! Comprised of two sessions per week, this Community of Practice will offer hands on examples and opportunities to see innovative direct service from employment providers across the State of Washington. Tuesday seminars will occur from 9:30 to 11:30am PST, and Friday workshops will provide follow up conversation and activities based on the Tuesday content from 9:30 to 10:30am PST. These events are open to all and free of charge.
*Attending the Tuesday seminar is not required in order to participate in Friday’s workshop, although you are encouraged to do so. Recordings of Tuesday’s events will be made available the following Wednesday to those who could not attend.
Meaningful Remote Billable Activities
Please join us on Friday, May 21 for our seminar, "Meaningful Remote Billable Activities" with Trillium.
We will be providing information on how to work with someone remotely and still provide quality service. We will also be providing tools and examples for working with someone remotely. These remote activities can be done via virtual meeting, phone, or if needed, mail.
- Learn how to identify activities to do with the person you serve that will best benefit them.
- Get ideas on various ways to provide remote support and when it is appropriate.
- Learn how to use various tools with the person you serve to make the most out of remote service.

*Please note: Wise maintains registration and attendance records for our events and training programs. Wise is required to monitor participation in our courses and provide reports to our funding sources so that they may utilize these records in the course of their audits of programs. These reports may include actual time spent by attendee name, event/training title, county and state. Reports are provided to ensure there is documented proof of the appropriate use of government funds for the purposes of professional development. Attendees that participate in our events and/or complete training programs will receive a certificate to document participation as back up for billing purposes.

Meet the Panel:
Jennifer Hamann
Employment Consultant, She/her pronouns
Jenn is originally from Southern California and moved to Washington over 20 years ago. She currently lives in Bonney Lake with her three boys and two dogs (Romeo and Juliette). She has an Associate of Arts degree in Human Resources and worked in a Developmental Learning Center at Crestwood Elementary. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids and going on hikes. She found Trillium while looking for a job in Human Resources and was overjoyed at the idea of being able to help break down barriers in the workplace for adults with disabilities.
Jaymie Heberlein
Senior Employment Consultant, She/her pronouns
Jaymie came to Trillium after several positive experiences being a coworker of people with developmental disabilities. At both a large law firm and a fitness club, Jaymie enjoyed promoting the skills of her coworkers with disabilities in ways that expanded their job duties and helped other staff appreciate their value in the company. Jaymie joined Trillium’s Kitsap team in 2011, bringing strong community ties and an excitement for networking with local businesses. Jaymie has expansive experience helping large companies carve job descriptions, enabling them to benefit from specialized skills and creative labor solutions. She focuses on support to coworkers and managers so they can realize the new employee’s strengths and integrate them into the workplace culture. Because career growth is so important, Jaymie continuously offers tools and consultation for job expansion that increase the employee’s contribution to the business. She has been a guest columnist in the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Jaymie holds the Employment Professional Certificate.
