Wise Online Employment Academy: Job Development & Marketing
Please join us for this webinar-based, instructor-led, workshop which provides a thorough overview of the essential functions of marketing and customized job development for employment support professionals who work with job seekers with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This course gives employment specialists the values, confidence, and skills they need to work with the business community to develop win-win employment opportunities meeting the needs of the job seekers they serve and the businesses that hire them. It also provides insight, inspiration and a reminder of the basic values and creative, time-tested, approaches that are truly effective in successfully performing this valuable social service.
Designed to engage, inspire and activate your abilities, the course consists of pre-course readings, a series of webinars, reading assignments, offline skill building activities and course discussion forum participation.
This Course is part of the Wise Online Academy Customized ACRE-certified Employment Specialist Core Training Series. Those who completed one or more courses prior to June 2021 will earn a Basic ACRE Certificate.

The total expected time to complete this course, including offline skill-building activities, is 12 hours.
Cost: $200, Providers with contracts through a Washington State DD Program may use the WASTATE promo code (be sure to hit apply). The fee for providers with contracts through a Washington State DD Program is currently sponsored by DDA and the counties. This limited opportunity is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Space is limited to 100 participants; Registration closes once capacity is reached.
Note: Participation in and earning a certificate of completion for this Course requires: 1) Registering for and using the Wise Online Learning Platform, 2) Attending all 4 webinars and not missing more than one hour for the course and successfullly completing assignments outside of course webinar time.
All coursework must be completed by the assignment deadline. Rare exceptions must be approved in advance of assignment deadline. If an approved exception is granted or corrections to work are required, those assignments must be submitted in sufficient time to successfully complete the assignment no later than 1 week following the final webinar. If recordings are requested, those must be viewed by the same timeline. If coursework and live or recorded webinar viewing is not completed by the final deadline, students would need to register, pay and retake the course to earn a certificate.

Jenny has experience as a Competitive Integrated Employment Program Manager, an Employment Specialist, and a Job Coach in Oregon. She became a Certified Employment Support Professional through APSE in 2014 and received her BS in Sociology from Portland State University. She enjoys using her training as a Person Centered Planning Facilitator to brainstorm employment possibilities with people. Jenny’s interests and strengths are in collaborating with supported employment programs and teams to create and implement best practices. She is passionate about the tenets of Employment First and achieving equitable employment for all people experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities. When not in the office she enjoys reading dystopian novels, thrift shopping for treasures, cats, and spending time with family.
