Led by a trainer with lived experience of disability, this interactive training helps professionals learn how to support employees who are aging or experiencing changes in their physical abilities at work. Participants will explore strategies to create inclusive workplaces, adapt supports as needs evolve, and promote opportunities for continued growth. The session highlights practical accommodations, communication approaches, and tools to sustain employment success and dignity for every worker.
My name is Jennie Heidrick, and I am the founder of a training and consultation business built on one core value: care. Care for myself—as a person with a disability and chronic pain—and care for the people and teams I partner with. My work centers on person-centered practices, trauma-informed care, and disability advocacy, ensuring that every interaction is grounded in respect, empathy, and inclusion.
I began my journey in the disability field in 1999, supporting adults transitioning from the state institution into their communities. Witnessing the lasting effects of institutional living inspired me to focus on creating more inclusive futures for children and youth with developmental disabilities. As a parent of a child with a disability and a mom of five, I have firsthand experience navigating early childhood services, the IEP process, and major life transitions—often using the same planning tools I now teach to others.
With over 16 years of experience as a professional trainer and more than 10 years as a behavior professional, I bring a wealth of knowledge from working with families, professionals, and people with disabilities. My specialties include developing customized trainings, mentoring, and collaborating on projects that promote disability justice, community care, and empowerment.
Every workshop I lead is rooted in collaboration, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves the tools to live their best life.
