Heather Evans has spent over 20 years working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their communities to advance meaningful opportunities. Her experience spans Supported Employment, Customized Employment, legislative advocacy, and organizational development. She has led teams, certified direct service providers in Mental Health First Aid, and provided technical assistance in areas such as Systematic Instruction, Person-Centered Planning, and mentoring emerging leaders.
Heather holds a Work Incentive Practitioner Credential from Cornell University and currently works with the BenefitU team at Wise, helping people, their families, and practitioners navigate benefits and employment systems. She is especially committed to promoting self-determination and ensuring that employment professionals center the job seeker in their work.
She also serves as president of the Pacific Northwest Partners for Work Rotary Club, where she is exploring how Rotary can support inclusive employment initiatives.
Outside of her professional work, Heather enjoys gardening, backpacking, and participating in community mutual aid. Her love of plants extends from a vibrant indoor collection to full front and backyard gardens, where she grows food, medicine, and joy.
