Website Portfolio Course

Empowering transition educators and employment specialists with tools and strategies to support students transitioning from school to work.

This online, instructor-led course helps educators and employment specialists support students and job seekers in building a website portfolio to showcase their strengths, skills, and talents. Attendees will learn practical digital tools to boost digital literacy, support career exploration, and guide people in sharing their story with potential employers. This course is for transition educators, job developers, and others who want to strengthen their technology skills and support career planning in a creative, empowering way. Website portfolios offer a dynamic and accessible tool for job seekers to present their abilities and build confidence in their career journey. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the value of digital portfolios in employment and transition planning. 
  • Learn how to use and teach digital tools for website creation. 
  • Create at least one website portfolio for yourself or someone you support. 

Logistics

  • Training Format: Live virtual group sessions, on-demand coursework, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Intended Audience: Employment Service Providers, Residential Service Providers, Individuals and Families, Educators, Other Service Providers, Community Members.
  • Time Commitment: 12 weeks total including four live 1.5-hour group sessions and up to five individual coaching sessions (scheduled by each attendee).
  • Certifications: Continuing Education (CESP CE) credits available – 25 hours.
  • Capacity: Up to 15 participants. Designed for small group, skills-based learning and active engagement.
